1 hit by stray bullet, assailants on run

One person was injured when a bullet, fired by one miscreant during a gunfight between two groups, grazed past his body in the Beraberi area of Rajarhat this evening, police said.

Raju Alam, a bike mechanic at a local bike-mending shop in a marketplace was injured when a stray bullet aimed at another motorcyclist grazed past him, they said.

Both the bikers, involved in construction business, fled the area and Alam was taken to a local hospital, police said adding that a murder attempt case has been registered against unknown persons.
