1 killed, another injured in clash

One person was killed and another injured in a clash during a panchayat called to settle a land dispute in Gorakhpur district today, police said.

Rival factions opened fire and attacked each other with knives when the panchayat was in progess to resolve a land dispute in Shahganj village under Pipraich police station, they said here.

While Pintu Yadav (32) received stab injuries and succumbed in a hospital, 22-year-old Monu Yadav sustained bullet injury on his shoulder and was admitted to a hospital.

A case has been registered and investigation is on, police added.
