10-month old boy dies of viral fever

A 10-month old boy died in the Government Hospital here early today following complaints of viral fever.

The parents of Prasanna, hailing from Thudiyalur on the outskirts, had admitted him to the six days ago after being treated in a private hospital for the fever.

Though the boy had symptoms of dengue, the doctors attending him claimed that he died due to other complications, like high viral fever and "septic shock" (a type of infection related disease leading to low blood pressure).
