12 children were today taken ill after consuming milk served under the mid-day meal scheme in a primary school in Madwa under Pasgawan block here.
The cooks, who had tasted the milk before serving it to the children were also taken ill, officials said.
All the children, who were taken ill, were rushed to Pasgawan health center, they said, adding that they are stated to be out of danger.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Nagendra Singh along with the Basic Shiksha Adhikari, the Block Development Officer and a medical team rushed to the health center, they said.
Meanwhile, the primary teachers association voiced grave concern over the incident.
Association's District Secretary Manoj Shukla said that they had already apprised the authorities that it was difficult to arrange quality milk in such large quantity everyday.
