15-year-old girl raped in UP, one arrested

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men, police said today.

The girl was allegedly raped by Yunus (40) and Anis (35) last night. While Anis managed to escape, Yunus was caught by villagers after she raised an alarm, said SSP Bablu Kumar said.

"Yunus was brutally thrashed by villagers before being handed over to police," he said, adding the victim's family lodged a case at Maghora police station.

The girl has been hospitalised, he added.

Villagers staged a protest last night demanding immediate arrest of Anis and were dispersed early this morning, he said.
