With the arrest of 16 persons, police today claimed to have busted a gambling racket active in different parts of the district.
Police seized Rs 74,100 in cash, playing cards and 16 mobile phones from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in Loni area late last night and arrested all 16 accused, aged between 25 and 35 years.
"Police got information that some persons were gambling in Loni area near Ganga Vihar area late last night. A police team was sent there. And, all 16 gamblers were arrested," a police officer said.
Police are interrogating the accused about their accomplices to get some leads about their hideouts, officer added.
