Seventeen Bangladeshis, including eight children, were arrested from different parts of Boxanagar block area in Sipahijala district, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Mobile Task Force (MTF) and police officials from Kalamchoura Police Station yesterday raided two houses and arrested the Bangladeshis.
Police said, the Indo-Bangla international border in the area has divided many houses in such a way that many have their drawing rooms in India while the kitchen is in Bangladesh.
The Bangladeshis, came in search of jobs and were staying in the houses of their relatives or friends, police said.
