19 taken ill consuming food from Digha hotel

Nineteen people, who were holidaying at Digha in Purba Midnapore district, were hospitalised after they fell ill consuming food from a local hotel, police said.

Five out of the 19 were released from the Digha Sub-Division Hospital after initial treatment, while the rest were discharged in the evening after their complete recovery, a senior police officer said.

"They are out of danger and there is nothing to worry about them," the officer said.

The 19 persons were part of a 40-member cricket team from the city that visited Digha to celebrate the winning a local tournament.
