19-year-old girl raped

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man when she was returning home in the wee hours here today, police said.

The man, a weaver-cum-bus driver, escaped under the cover of darkness.

The girl, a second year BCom student at a college in Namakkal district, has been admitted to a hospital and search is on for the accused, police said.
