2 children of a family die after drowning

Two children of a family today died after drowning in an overflowing drain in Kazi Khera village here, police said.

Jaiveer (10) fell in the overflowing drain while playing near it with Shivani (9) who jumped into it to save the boy but both of them drowned, Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Yadav said.

The drain was overflowing due to heavy rains during the past few days, he said.

Later, the locals fished out the bodies, the SP said, adding that the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
