2 girls mowed down by truck in UP's Banda

Two girls were killed after being run over by a truck in neighbouring Mahoba district, police said on Friday.

The accident took place in Sura village under Srinagar Police Station area on Thursday when Kavita (11) and Raksha (3) were crossing the road, SHO Rakesh Kumar Saroj said.

The truck driver fled the scene alongwith the vehicle and a hunt has been launched to nab him, the SHO said, adding that the bodies have been handed over to the relatives after post-mortem examination.
