Two persons have been arrested with 1.4 kg of heroin worth Rs 2 crore in black market on the outskirts of Bardoli town in Surat, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials said here today.

Based on a tip-off, NCB officials nabbed them near a hotel on Bardoli-Surat highway late last night. They were riding a motorcycle.

"We found packets of heroin, weighing around 1.4 kg, from them. They were identified as Mohan Shah (50) and Mukesh Patel (30).

"They claimed to have purchased the narcotics from a Jaipur-based drug dealer Ashok Kumar," NCB zonal director Hariom Gandhi said.

"Primary investigation revealed that both of them were in search of buyers to sell their heroin. We have learnt that they were trying to establish themselves as drug dealers and make money out of it," the officer said.
