2 injured as gunmen fire at political worker

Two persons were injured when gunmen fired at a political party worker who was inside a tea stall along with the victims in Malda district Thursday, police said.

The incident occurred at Talsura village under Harishchandrapur police station when the two persons were coming out of the tea stall.

Police said the gunmen fled while the two injured were hospitalised in a serious condition.

Political clashes have been taking place in the district since the panchayat election in May.
