2 killed, another injured as lorry falls into 100-ft gorge

: Two drivers were killed and another seriously injured when the carrot laden lorry, they were travelling in fell into a 100-foot gorge on Mettupalayam Road early this morning.

Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle after which it rammed the parapet wall and fell into the gorge.

Two of them were killed on the spot, while the injured person has been hospitalised.

Police and fire and rescue department personnel retrieved the bodies.

The lorry was taking the consignment to Madurai from Kothagiri in Nilgiris district when the mishap occured.
