Two labourers, hailing from West Bengal's Malda district, were killed and about 12 others injured when a tractor trolley in which they were travelling overturned in Lalganj-Kotwali police station area here today.
The labourers, working in a rail coach factory, were on their way to have lunch when the vehicle overturned, Superintendent of Police N Kolanchi said.
The injured were rushed to a community health centre where doctors declared Omkesh Rai (28) and Kallu Rai (27), natives of Malda in West Bengal, dead, the SP said, adding that two others in serious condition were referred to the district hospital.
Meanwhile, the contractor who had hired the labourers, fled the scene soon after the accident.
