2 murdered, witchcraft suspected

A gram pradhan and his wife were murdered by unidentified assailants in Rumutkel village in Khunti district, the police today said.

The gram pradhan Pandu Munda (45) and his Anima Soy Murum were at their residence when unidentified persons barged inside and attacked them with sharp weapon yesterday night, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Khunti), Ranveer Singh, said.

Singh said witchcraft could be one of the reasons behind the attack and murder.

The SDPO said the killers, who are at large, have been identified and will be arrested soon.
