2 wardens suspended for prisoner's escape

Two wardens at the Palayamkottai Central Prison here were today suspended for dereliction of duty in connection with the escape of a mentally unstable life convict, police said.

Sudalaimuthu escaped from the prison two days ago and was found sleeping at a bus stand here last night. Subsequently, he was brought back and lodged in the prison.

Jail Superintendent Sethamarai Kannan suspended wardens Tirumalainambi and Adithyan for being carless in their duty and allowing the prisoner to escape.
