20 kg Ganja seized near Mandapam

Nearly 20 kg of Ganja allegedly meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka, was seized today near Mandapam in this district, police said.

Those who brought the narcotic substance had abandoned it near the coast and fled the scene, they said.

Acting on a tip-off, customs officials reached the spot and confiscated the ganja worth Rs 10 lakhs, in the illegal market, and are on the look out for the culprits.
