20 people injured as roof collapses

The roof of a house today collapsed in Sudher area here, injuring 20 people, an official said.

Many people had gathered in the house for a condolence meeting when the incident took place, SDM Dharamsala Sharvan Kumar said.

According to locals, the roof of the house was damaged due to incessant rainfall in the area.

All the injured were rushed to the district hospital here, the SDM said, adding no one was fatally injured in the accident.

The most of the injured are women, he said.

Kumar said an interim relief of Rs 90,000 has been distributed to the injured which includes Rs 10,000 given to the house owner.
