215 cartons of illegal liquor seized, 2 arrested

In a major haul, 215 cartons of smuggled liquor worth Rs 12 lakh were recovered after two persons were arrested in Sisona village, police said today.

A team of excise department intercepted a truck and a car yesterday and seized the cartons, excise officer Akhilesh Kumar said.

Police have registered a case against Vipin Kumar and Ravinder under various sections of IPC in this matter, he said.

The liquor was being smuggled from Haryana to Muzaffarnagar, the officer said.
