A 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by setting herself on fire in Rajasthan's Dungarpur district today.
The woman, identified as Veena, poured kerosene on herself after sending her four-year-old daughter to school in Bada Pachlasa village, police said, adding, she took the extreme step apparently out of depression.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition by family members and villagers where she gave a statement that she wanted to end her life because of her mental sickness, Sub-Inspector, Aspur police station, Mangilal said.

The woman succumbed to her burn injuries after some time of hospitalisation, he said.
Her husband Shankar lal works as a labourer in Mumbai.
Her family members said that she was being treated for mental stress for the last three-four months, the officer said.
