250 kg of gelatine seized, 2 held

About 250 kg of gelatine, used in manufacturing explosives, were seized from an auto-rickshaw at a check-post in the district and two persons were arrested, police said today.

The seizure was effected during a search of the vehicle at Velanthavalam check-post, they said, adding the gelatine was found packed in 10 boxes.

The auto-rickshaw driver and another person travelling in it were arrested, but another man managed to escape, they said.
