Three men were arrested from Sumawali near here today in connection with the killing of a 35-year-old RTI activist in Morena, police said.
The activist, Mukesh Dubey, had been abducted late on Monday night from his Vikram Nagar Colony residence here and his body was found in the forest of Matkora village under Sumawali police station area yesterday morning, the police said.
According to police, the three arrested accused are relatives of a woman sarpanch of Sumawali Panchayat located around 18 kms from here, against whom Dubey had sought information under the RTI.

"We arrested Vikram Gurjar, his cousin Yogesh Gurjar and uncle Bharat Gurjar from Sumawali in connection with the murder of the RTI activist. Vikram is the son of woman sarpanch of Sumawali Panchayat, Upasana Gurjar," Superintendent of Police A P Singh told reporters.
"During the probe, it emerged that Dubey had sought several documents against the sarpanch under the RTI. Police also got to know that the family members of the woman sarpanch were angry with Dubey for sharing several documents on the social media after seeking them under RTI," he said, adding that he also used to share documents against other leaders.
Singh said nine criminal cases were registered against Dubey.
"Dubey was abducted by the accused on Monday from Morena and was beaten to death. The accused then threw his body in the forests of Matkora under Sumawali Police Station limits. The body was recovered yesterday morning," he said.
All the three accused have confessed to the murder, Singh said.
