3 businessmen booked on house-trespass charge in Thane

Three businessmen have been booked here for allegedly breaking open the lock of three shops in a building that was sealed by Thane civic officials after identifying it as 'dangerous' structure, police said today.

The residential-cum-commercial building located at Subash Path station was identified under 'dangerous' category and all occupants were evacuated and shops on the ground floor were sealed by a team of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) officials on November 22, 2016, a Thane Nagar police station officer said.

However, seal on three shops were found broken during an inspection on December 20, the officer said.

Based on the complaint lodged by TMC officials yesterday, three persons, who owned business establishments in the building, were booked under house-trespass charge.
 

The businessmen were identified as Bharat Gala of Navjeevan Cloth Stores, Anwaar Ali of A Ommar Stores, Mukundlal Totaram Mangla of Poonam Bar, the officer said.

The case has been booked under IPC section 448 (house trespass) and relevant sections of Maharashtra Police Rules- 1951 and no arrest has been made so far, police added.
