Three policemen were today transferred to police lines for allegedly misbehaving with the family members of an income tax officer here.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Manohar Lal, constables Sanjay and Laxman, posted in Amba Mata police station, had last night gone to execute a warrant against one Salman Beg but they mistakenly reached the house of income tax officer Mirza Ahemad Beg.

There the policemen allegedly misbehaved with Beg's mother and two sisters when the women objected on their entering the house without knocking the door.

On the basis of a complaint by the officer, Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad shunted the three personnel to police lines.

The matter is being probed further, the police said.
