3 get life in prison for murdering man
A court today sentenced three persons to life imprisonment for kidnapping and murdering a man here in 2013.
District and Sessions Judge B S Sandhu held Vishal Gupta (30), Gursewak Singh (23) and Sandeep Sharma (34) guilty of kidnapping and murdering 22-year-old Anmol Anand (22) on September 19, 2013.
The police had earlier said the three had kidnapped Anand and demanded ransom from his family. They later murdered him with sharp-edged weapons and threw the body into the Sirhind canal.
Based on a complaint filed by Anand's father, a case was registered in the matter and the three persons were arrested.
