: Three persons, including a woman, were injured and a house burnt in violence which broke out in nearby Servaikaran oorani village over an incident of a youth reportedly rashly driving a motorbike.
Armed police personnel have been posted in the village to prevent recurrence of further incidents
Police said a youth had rashly driven his motorbike, with his mother riding pillion last night. A heated argument broke out between him and the locals, following which they pelted stones, injuring her.
The youth later returned with his friends on several bikes, armed with bottles and stones, which they hurled at the homes of locals, injuring three persons. A petrol bomb was thrown at a hut, damaging it, police said.
Six persons were arrested today in connection with the violence, police said, adding the situation was now under control.
