3 killed in car-truck collision in AP

Three persons, including a woman, were killed and two others injured when their car collided with a tipper-truck near a village in Krishna district in the wee hours today, police said.

Five persons were travelling in a car from Pallakollu to Vijayawada via Pamarru when their vehicle hit the truck near Pedamaddala village in the district, they said.

Three persons - A Sathyanarayana (55), B Venkateswara Reddy (62) and N Sobharani (60) - died on the spot in the mishap, and two persons sustained serious injuries, Pamarru Circle Inspector D Prasad said.

The injured persons were admitted to Vijayawada Government Hospital.
 

All the five persons were from Nunna village.

A case has been registered and investigation is on into the incident, police added.
