35 sovereigns gold jewellary, cash stooen from house

: About 35 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 24,000 in cash were stolen from a locked house at Podanur on the outskirts of the city, police said today.

They said the house owner and his family had left for Erode yesterday. This morning the maidservant noticed the front door broken open and immediately informed him, who in turn filed a complaint with police.

The family rushed back and found the ornaments and cash missing.
