4 arrested after miscreants vandalise IAS officer's compound

A group of miscreants here, holding flags, today barged into the residential premises of a senior in Patnaik's office and indulged in vandalism, police said.

Stating that such violent acts and intolerance were unacceptable in a democracy, Deb said action would be taken as per law and those involved in the incident would be arrested.

BJP state unit vice president, Sameer Mohanty, said it was not proper on the part of a to be active in political matters and work for the ruling party.

Several politicians, including some in the ruling BJD, have been recently targeting the officer, accusing him of interfering in party affairs.
