Four persons were killed and 13 others injured when a truck and a tempo collided at Saderi on National Highway 152 in Assam's Barpeta district today, police sources said.
A vegetable-laden truck, coming from Barpeta Road side to Dumani Bazar, turned turtle when it tried to overtake the tempo coming from Baghmara to Pathsala.
While one died on the spot, three others succumbed to injuries at Pathsala Hospital, SDPO, Bajali David R. Neigete said.
Of the 12 injured, eight of them were in serious condition and got admitted to Barpeta Medical College Hospital, while one was sent to Gauhati Medical College Hospital, Neigete said.
The deceased were identified as Ranjit Barman, Nurul Islam, Dulal Nath and Bhogirath Saha.
