4 killed as mound of mud caves in

Four persons, including three minors, were today killed and three others injured when a mound of mud caved in here, police said.

Mamta (40), Kavita (17), Khushi (12) and Sheru (10) died on the spot and three others were injured when a mound of mud caved in while they were collecting it at Yusufpur Bhagwan area here, a police officer said.

In a similar incident, 13-year-old Ruchi was killed and two other girls, aged 8 and 9 years, were injured when a mound of mud caved in at Mahsaiya village here.

Later, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced the a financial aid of Rs 2 lakh each will be given to the kin of deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured.
