4-year-old boy killed as school building roof collapses

A 4-year-old boy was today killed and four others were seriously injured when roof of an unused dilapidated school building suddenly collapsed in the adjoining Devbhoomi Dwarka district, police said.

"The incident took place this afternoon in Pir-Lakhapar village of Khambhaliya tehsil when some children were playing in the premises of the dilapidated primary school, which was not in use," Khambhaliya police station officer Chandubha Parmar said.

"As per the information received this evening from G G Hospital in Jamnagar, a boy named Samir Umar Amad (4) died during treatment. He was shifted there along with 4 other kids, who were buried under the debris," he said.
 

Further investigations are underway, the officer added.
