43 Army officers get Army Aviation Wings

Forty three Army officers were today awarded 'Army aviation wings' during a passing out parade ceremony here.

The wings were presented to the student Army officers by Lt Gen P R Kumar, Director General Military Operations (DGMO) and Colonel Commandant Regiment of Artillery and Colonel Commandant Army Aviation Corps at the event held at Gandhinagar airfield, about 3 kms from here, a release issued by Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) said.

The 'Silver Cheetah' trophy was awarded to Capt Akhilesh Sahu for standing first in overall order of merit.

Lt Gen Kumar also presented trophies to the cadets for their best performance in 18-weeks-long course, it added.
 

In his address, DGMO has asked the officers to face new challenges by adopting hardship and study.

There were demonstrations by Cheetah, Chetak and Dhruv helicopters, the release said.
