Five persons were injured, three of them seriously, when a bison attacked them at Banarhat in Jalpaiguri district today.
Forest officials said the herbivore, which had strayed from adjacent forests in Dooars belt, ran helter skelter injuring the five.
The animal has since been tranquilised and later released in forest.
The three injured were being sent to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital.
