Five students were injured today in a clash over filing of nomination papers for the students' body election in Malda Women's College here.

The police said three of the injured students were admitted to Malda Medical College and Hospital.

Two of the admitted students are girl students who support SFI, the students' wing of CPI-M.

Today was the second day of filing nomination papers and the clash between supporters of SFI and TMCP, the students wing of Trinamool Congress, broke out when TMCP supporters allegedly stopped them at the collge gate.

The SFI supporters blocked the NH-34 in demand for arrest of the attackers and adequate police force, sources said.
