5 killed in building fire in China

Five people were killed today in a fire at a furniture warehouse in China's Jiangsu Province, local officials said.

The fire started in the wee hours at a furniture warehouse in Xiangcheng District.

Five people were rescued from the building but later died in hospital due to their injuries, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

More than 200 square metres of the two-storey brick-concrete building damaged in the fire.
