5 police personnel injured in accident; discharged

: Five police personnel including a Deputy Superintendent of Police and Inspector (Intelligence Bureau) were injured when their jeep collided with an autorickshaw at an auto stand at thangachimadam here today.

All of them were treated at a private hospital and discharged, police said.

The police personnel were returning to rameswaram after attending an ear piercing function at nearby Namunayaki amman temple when the mishap occurred.
