50 per cent British workers suffer stress

Around half of workers in the UK feel stressed in their jobs every day, which may take a toll on their long term health, a new study has warned.
Researchers found that as many as one in five of British workers were too rushed to take even a single lunch break during the week.
A third of the workers in the UK claim their bosses do not care about their health as it is no longer a priority in a tough economic climate, the 'Daily Express' reported.

Many admitted being desk-bound, with a fifth having no physical activity at all and a quarter only managing about 20 minutes of exercise a day.
Many rely on regular quick-fixes of coffee or chocolate to cope with the mounting stress, the report said.
The study, by British Heart Foundation, which polled around 1,200 workers, found work-related stress was taking a dramatic toll on the country's health.
"We spend 60 per cent of our day at work and it is time for employers to make health and well-being an essential part of it," Lisa Purcell, for the Foundation's Health at Work programme, said.
