A 50-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging in Pilibhit village here, police said today.
Jhinka Devi committed suicide last night by hanging from ceiling of his quarter under Kotwali Dehat police station. Her husband Dharam Raj, who works as watchman in government Ashram Paddhati School, found his wife dead after he returned from night duty, police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem, they said.
Dharam Raj has been taken in custody to ascertain the reason behind extreme step of her, they said.
A case has been registered in the matter, police said, adding, an investigation is on.
