51 police officers shifted in Punjab

In a major re-shuffle, the Punjab government today transferred 51 police officers in the state with immediate effect.

"The transfers have been done on administrative grounds in public interest," an official spokesman said.

The transferred officers included those belonging to the Punjab Police Service including Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Majority of those shifted are of DSP rank, the spokesman added.
