Six criminals including a woman were arrested today with arms and ammunition from a locality under the Chakia police station area in Bihar's East Champaran district, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided one Shatrughan Prasad's house in Chanakyapuri locality and arrested six criminals, including one Gita Devi, with two pistols, two magazines, eight live cartridges, nine mobile phones and a motorcycle, police inspector Sanjiv Shekhar Jha said.
The arrested criminals belonged to a gang, the Azad Hind Fuaj and were wanted in various crimes, including extortion, loot and murder in the East Champaran and neighbouring districts, he said.
Other arrested criminals have been identified as Roshan Kumar Singh, Virendera Mahto alias Master, Sujit Mahato, Golu Kumar, Sonu Kumar, he said.
