At least 6 persons were
injured today when the supporters of a leader who lost a sarpanch bypoll clashed with the supporters of the winner in the Pahadi area of the district, police said.
Supporters of Bagh Khan, who was defeated in the Satwari gram panchayat bypoll, today clashed with supporters of Shamshuddin who was declared winner last night, said police.
During the clash, some of the miscreants opened fire, leaving Nasim critically injured, said police, adding, others were hurt in the physical fight.
Nasim has been admitted to Alwar Government Hospital while 5 others are also being given primary treatment, police said.
Additional force has been deployed in the area and the situation is under control now, they added.
