6 injured in clashes in UP poll violence

At least six persons were injured after clashes broke out between two groups over discussions on the winning candidate at Nirmani village under Shahpur police station here.

Two persons, Baldhari and Prakash landed in a heated argument while analysing the name of the winning candidate after the third phase of Panchayat polls at Nirmani village here yesterday, police said, adding that it led to violent clashes between two groups using sharp weapons and stones.

The injured were rushed to the hospital, they said.

The security has been tightened in the area, police added.
