A six-year-old boy kidnapped in August was murdered and his body was thrown in the canal in Kidwainagar area here, police said today.
One of the alleged abductors, Nadeem confessed to his crime yesterday, police said. Five accused- Nadeem, Fahim, Joni, Naushad and Imran were arrested last month.
They abducted Zaid on August 27 and demanded a ransom of Rs 6 lakhs from his parents, police said, adding that only shoes and clothes of the child were recovered from the canal.
In a separate incident, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and in-laws over a family dispute in Bamanheri village here yesterday, police said.
The woman's husband Deoraj has been arrested while his brother Manoj is absconding, they said.
