A 60-year-old man was shot dead by four bike-borne assailants this morning, police said.
Om Prakash Singh, a brick kiln owner, was shot at after he reached the kiln, police said, adding, the accused posed as buyers.
The deceased, who was a former zila panchayat member and a relative of Minister of State for Basic Education, Yogesh Pratap Singh, suffered injuries on the head and chest and died on the spot, they said.
A complaint against unidentified persons has been registered and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination, police said.
