7 injured in TMC, SUCI clash in Burdwan

At least seven persons were injured today in a clash between the activists of the ruling TMC and SUCI in West Bengal's Burdwan district.

According to police, the clash took place between the Trinamool Trade Union Congress and SUCI (Socialist Unity Centre of India) over alleged recruitment of TMC activists in a paper mill in Pratapur.

The clash took place in front of the paper mill after the TMC activists attacked the SUCI protesters who were staging a demonstration against the recruitment policy.

Among the injured were four TMC and three SUCI activists who have been admitted to the Durgapur hospital.
 

Situation is now under control and investigations are on, police said.
