7 police killed in traffic accident in Mexico

Seven police officers in the Mexican Pacific coast state of Michoacan have died in a traffic accident.

Michoacan's public safety agency says that the state police truck was part of a 15-vehicle convoy when it overturned this morning.

The agency did not explain what caused the crash. Among the dead were six men and one woman. Two other officers were injured.

The convoy was on its way to Los Reyes, a town about 485 kilometers west of Mexico City.
