A 70-year-old man died today in police custody allegedly due to torture at Sawaran police station.
Om Prakash, a resident of village Dhakar, died this afternoon in police custody after he was arrested yesterday for molesting an 8-year-old girl.
Police claimed that Prakash died after consuming some poisonous substance and registered a suicide case.

The deceased's family members claimed that he had lent Rs 50,000 to one Omi Lal who did not return it and instead registered a false case against Prakash.
They also alleged that he was tortured in police custody.
The matter is being investigated and necessary actions will be initiated after enquiry, Ram Mohan Singh, SP (City) Bulandshahr said.
