Eight persons were killed in accident involing a minitruck and a truck when they were carrying a body at Nakashipara in Nadia district today, police said.
Eight persons were killed when the minitruck, in which the body was being taken, collided with another truck at around 2.30 AM," said Sabya Sachi Raman Mishra, SP, Nadia.
The relative and friends of Hanif Sekh, who had expired at Shaktinagar Hospital, were bringing his body home when the mishap occured near Yugpur rail gate.

There were about 14 persons in the mini truck.
While one person died on spot, six others were declared dead, the SP said. Another one was referred to Kolkata but succumbed on way.
All the victims were from Subainagar village of Nakashipara in Nadia.
Local people said as one of the injured called up from the spot, villagers got to know about the incident.
The developments cast a pall of gloom in the area as local party supporters refrained from celebrating the lok sabha poll results.
